Happy Holiday Season

Laughter in the kitchen,
Coats hung on hooks.
Frost on the windows,
And noses dug in books.

Spending time with family,
with loved ones, and with friends
Is the best way to sit and watch
As 2020 ends.

What awaits us next?
Who knows, alas, who minds?
Time to relax! To rest the soul,
And escape the constant grind.

Worry about the future,
is pointless in these weeks,
Let’s celebrate the end of things,
And get some needed sleep.

What about the past, you ask?
Ha! The past is now long gone.
The snowflakes are our poetry,
The wintry breeze, our timeless song.

Hey Kyle, sweet poem. Really evokes a lot of good feelings. Hope things are going well and hope your first semester at MIT was alright!

Hey Ben, thanks for your nice comments! I haven’t really written poetry before so I know it’s not great, but hey, worth a share! Got my exam tomorrow bright and early, then I’m pretty much done with the semester. A lot of work, but it was a fine time!

I don't like your attitude, Kyle. The grind never stops!
